Week 8: 3D Shape Renders

Render 1: I used a blue chrome material for the outer shell as cobalt blue is my favourite colour. To represent my interest in soccer, the interior consists of a black leather, which is a common material used in soccer boots and traditional soccer balls.  Render 2: One of my hobbies is woodwork, which is represented in this render through the use of a semi-gloss maple exterior and the unfinished pine interior. These types of wood are significant as i used them to construct my HSC woodtech major work. Render 3: This render features an exterior of carbon fibre and brushed steel. The interior is made of a hexagonal steel mesh. These materials are commonly associated with engineering, which is the degree i am pursuing.

Week 9: Written Statement

Lighting Techniques The week 7 paper model was made to represent a creative and refined version of my living space at a scale of 1 to 20. Lighting techniques were used when photographing the model in order to enhance the representation of space and form. An example of this was the varying displays of light entering the model’s interior. This was achieved through a combination of model positioning and isolated light sources created by an adjustable reading lamp. The use of lighting techniques improved the overall quality of the images by creating a dynamic interaction between the model and the surrounding environment.
